The celestial weapons such as Caladbolg, Nirvana, World Champion, Masamune, Spirit Lance, Godhand and Onion Knight have very special abilitys when you buy them. When you buy a celestial weapon you will have the ability to kill every monster without any struggle. Bosses like the sanctuary keeper that is the guardian set by Lady Yunalesca at Zanarkand will be MUCH more easier to get through. 

But that's not the only thing, When you have a celestial weapon you will get tripple salary from the Missions you do. So for example: If you do a Medium Mission with the salary of 100 Gil, you will get 300 Gil instead. (If you have other/more suggestions about the Celestial weapons, please PM an admin.)
